Selective Catalytic Reduction- catalysts and Reductants

Selective Catalytic Reduction is a process of conversion of the oxides of the nitrogen gas. This is made by with the help of a catalyst. Catalyst is also known as prompter or the diameter of the reactions. So times it increases the speed of the reaction and sometimes it decreases it. They may be of two types called positive and negative catalysts. A catalyst is used with nitrogen and water in the presence of ammonia and various gaseous and selective catalysts. Selective Catalytic Reduction application is used in various industries.

Selective Catalytic Reduction process is done in the presence of reducing agent. This technology is generally used in various countries and in various processes. Selective Catalytic Reduction is applied in many fields like industrial and utility boilers. Reduction of nitrogen oxide by using reducing agent is applied in various applications like engines. Selective catalyst reduction catalysts can be produced by several materials like oxides of titanium and various catalysts. These catalysts may be the base oxides like tungsten oxide. This is best catalyst and positive and negative effect on the reaction. These base oxides can increase or decrease the speed of reaction.

The catalyst of the base metal may lack durability of thermal strength but it is cheap. This is commonly used in various industries and operates in all the range of the temperature in boiler industries. But durability and strength are very important for the application of the Selective Catalytic Reduction in diesel engines. It also needs high potential of the catalysis. This process includes the oxidization of sulfur dioxide to spare tire oxide.

There are various catalogues that can work at the higher temperature range then the base catalyst. This type of catalyst is named as zeolites. It can operate up to nine hundred Kelvin temperatures and prevent the oxidation of the sulfur dioxide. There are various reluctant that also uses in Selective Catalytic Reduction operations. These registrants include oxidation of the product and increase the oxidation number of it. These registrants may be ammonia. This ammonia may be in any form like aqueous or anhydrous. Urea is also a good reduction and is available in large quantity. Ammonia in anhydrous form may be poisonous. It is difficult to store it safely.
