3 Methods To Find Private Writing Clients

Although content writing mills may be drying up, there will always be a need for freelance writers. As a ghostwriter looking for private writing clients it's a tough job, but it's well worth the time and effort to start looking for private clients who often pay more for a ghostwriter than getting paid by content mills.

Many times when you're writing for content mills there's a wide range of topics to choose from and that can be a good thing, but it can also be a hindrance as some may require extensive research if you're unfamiliar with the topics. When you're looking for private clients, you can choose to specialize in a niche or niches you are familiar with and comfortable writing about.

A common question asked by many freelance writers is how to find private writing clients. Here are three methods to help you find higher paying clients.

Network
Networking is by far one of the best methods to find what you're looking for. Use LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to network. These sites have proven to work every time.If you prefer, you can also add Google+. If you're not familiar with these social network sites, take the time to learn. Choose one network and learn it before venturing into the others. Don't spread yourself too thin because being consistent and in front of your potential clients is more important than being inconsistent or non-existent.

LinkedIn takes on more of a business/professional approach. If you're looking to be relaxed, use Facebook or Twitter. Regardless of which social media site you use, remember you're looking for clients who are looking for your services. Act and behave in a positive light and don't jeopardize your chances of finding work.

Email Web Owners
Web owners are always striving to have well-written content on their sites. Having original articles are better than using reprint articles. Many web owners either don't have the time to write or don't write well and hiring a ghostwriter is the right choice for them.

Freelance Bidding Sites
There are freelance bidding sites where you can find private writing clients. Some of the bidding sites will often go with the lowest bidder, but don't let that discourage you because the clients will get what they paid for and that's poor quality articles. Stick to your rates because if you start accepting low paying writing jobs, you'll always get low paying writing jobs. Once you land a gig and they see your work, I'm sure they'll come back for more.

As a ghostwriter, you have to be consistent in your networking and marketing methods. Show your potential private writing clients how you can help them solve their writing and web content needs.
