Harare is house of sparkling attractions

Zimbabwe's capital city of Harare has something for everyone .you just have to know where to look. The city centre does have its tourist attractions, but many of the must-see sights are in the suburbs or on the outskirts of Harare. A car is the best way to get around, and now that petrol is widely available in garages this is much easier than it was a few years ago. Harare has a lot of gorgeous attractions to visit.
Domboshawa

Literally translated as 'The Red Rock', this granite hill on the outskirts of Harare is a great place to go for sundowners. It's an easy as 15-minute walk to the top and not too strenuous that you can't take a picnic basket with you.

If you'd prefer to make an afternoon of it, follow the hand painted arrows on the rocks to get to the rock paintings and caves, and then meander slowly to the top and take in the view. Although it's not too steep, the rock can be slippery so walking shoes are a must.

For the more adventurous, go up Ngomakurira (The Mountain of Drums), which is Domboshawa's big brother, a little further out of town. This takes about an hour to walk up, depending on which route you take, and is much more scenic. There's a small lake at the top and a mini-forest growing out of the rock. Both have a small entry fee which is payable on arrival at the site. Visitors like this place and pay visit to Harare by taking their cheap flights to Harare.

Doon Estate

Monkeys, hand made pottery and Belgian chocolates etc. These are the hallmarks of Doon Estate. A motley collection of converted railway worker's houses have been converted into shops selling high quality wares from local craftspeople. Highlights of the estate are Kudhinda, which sells high quality fabric goods in singnature colors and patterns; Ros Byrne hand painted pottery teapots , plates and the likes ; and the Coca Tree, a coffee and cake shop which specializes in chocolates made in fine Belgian style. As the Doon Estate is outside the city centre, monkeys are common visitiors, and they have a penchant for the sugar cubes from the coffee tables. Visitors book their seats in flights to Harare from London and other parts of the World to enjoy their time at different gorgeous places at Harare. Other gorgeous attractions placed in different parts of Harare include The National Archives, The Botanical Gardens, TheMuseum of Human Sciences, Ruwa Sculpture Gallery, Chiremba Balancing Rocks, National Heroe's Acre, Africa Unity Square, The Book Café, Harare Gardens, the Town House and many others.
