How to pass interview and keep the job

To pass an interview is not as difficult as keeping the job. To get and keep a job has been a serious problem for many people in the world today. As a first step, you need to know the various questions that are often asked in an interview.

The most frequent questions are listed below:

1 Have you ever done this type of job before?

2 Why do you want to work for this particular organization?

3 What do you know about this organization?

4 Why have applied for this job?

5 Tell me about yourself

6 Can you work under pressure?

7 Why did you leave your last job?

8 What skills can you bring to this job?

9 What experience have you got in this area of job?

10 What are your weaknesses?

11 What are your greatest assets?

These the questions that are often asked in any job interview. If you learned and understood these questions, you should be prepared for a job. In addition to this you need to research the organization you hope to work for. You will make a good impression if the potential employer realize that you know so much about the company.

Your research will enable you know if the organization has the kind of work you want. Wearing appropriate dressing to an interview cannot be over emphasized because of its importance. If the job you seek involves manual labor, wear neat and clean clothing as appropriate dressing will tell the potential employer that you take pride in your work.

Coming to the interview about 10 minutes early is also crucial. It could be disastrous to arrive late at interview. The first 3 seconds is all it takes for the interviewer to assess your appearance and your bearing and this will deeply influence his opinion about you. If you are late you will make negative impression and you will not have a second chance to rectify it.

You should make concerted effort not be nervous during interview. Interview is a time to know and assess each other, it should not be viewed as an interrogation. Remember that the interviewer was once a candidate who faced interview panel, he knows how you feel. If the interview is the employer, he knows he may have much to loose if he choose the wrong person for the job.

Concentrate on what the employer needs from you and what you have to offer. Do not fidget, a good posture conveys confidence. Do not be too informal or talk too much; and most importantly, do not use profanity. During the interview, do the following:

  • Use natural gesture when you speak.
  • Maintain eye contact with the interviewer.
  • Be concise and honest when answering questions.
  • Ask relevant questions about the organization.

If you follow the suggestions outlined above, you may soon have a job.
